Story

cHone Racing was
founded in 2000 by Darrell McHone and is based in Thomasville, NC.
McHone Racing initially fielded a Pontiac Firebird for driver Wayne
McHone in the 2001 Nascar Street Stock Series at Ace Speedway in
Altamahaw, NC. The team competed in 13 races in their inaugural season
and posted 10 top-5 finishes, 12 top-10 finishes and finished fourth in
the Points Standings. In addition, Wayne
McHone was named Rookie of the Year for the series. In 2002, McHone
Racing moved to Caraway Speedway in Asheboro,NC where they competed in
the 2002 Nascar Street Stock Series. The team continued to improve
their on-track performance posting 2 wins, 10 top-5 finishes, and 12
top-10 finishes in only 15 races. McHone Racing finished fourth in the
points and Wayne finished second in the Rookie of the Year standings.
In 2003,McHone Racing
fielded a Chevrolet Camaro in the Nascar Street Stock Series at Caraway
Speedway. Wayne and the team posted 7 wins, 11 top-5 finishes, and 15
top-10 finishes in only 17 races, again finishing fourth in the points.

Through
hard work during the off-season preparing the race car to be a threat to
win on any given night, and through teamwork and determination during
the season on the part ot team and driver, 2004 became the year for Wayne and McHone Racing. In their
debut in the Nascar Limited Late Model Series at Caraway Speedway the
team started in 24 races, posting 4 poles, 4 wins, 20 top-5 finishes,
and an amazing 24 top-10 finishes on their way to winning the 2004 Nascar Limited Late Model Series Championship and the 2004 Rookie of the
Year honors.
With a new Chevrolet Monte Carlo built during the off-season, McHone
Racing ran 23 races at Caraway Speedway, earning 10 poles, 11 wins, 22
top-5 finishes and 23 top-10 finishes in the 2005 season and finished
second in the Limited Late Model Series points.
At
the beginning of the 2005 season, Wayne and McHone Racing partnered with
Kernersville, NC based OK Webz.com, LLC in an effort to take their
racing to the next level, launching a team website (www.mchoneracing.com)
and a motorsports marketing campaign designed to maximize the benefits
of race team sponsorship for their sponsors. Marketing campaigns are
broad in spectrum, ranging from special events away from the race track
to employee appreciation/hospitality events and brand specific themes
and
promotions at the race track All McHone Racing marketing efforts are
completely customized for each sponsor to achieve optimal success.
In
2006, McHone Racing secured their second championship in the Nascar
Limited Late Model Series while gaining additional experience by running
some NASCAR Late Model Stock Division races. In addition, the fans
voted Wayne McHone the Most Popular Driver for 2006.
McHone Racing has established itself as a force to be reckoned with at
Caraway Speedway with an amazing winning percentage of greater than 24%
while also demonstrating consistency that is second-to-none, finishing
in the Top 10 in 93% of their races run. In 2007, McHone Racing will
move up and run the full time Late Model Stock Division schedule at
Caraway Speedway, as well as select events at other race tracks across
the Southeast. So look for Wayne McHone and the familiar#8 Chevrolet
